The Hub Glasgow · Movement assessment

See how you move. Retrain what holds you back.

A complete 3D GAIT analysis, rehabilitation and gait-retraining package for people who want more than a report. We assess your movement, explain what matters and spend six one-hour sessions helping you change it.

Assess. Retrain. Reassess.A clinician-led plan that turns useful 3D movement and force analysis into practical rehabilitation.

More than an assessment

A finding is only useful if you know what to do with it.

Recurring pain, repeated injuries or an awkward walking or running pattern can leave you guessing. A scan or a quick visual check may describe one part of the picture, but it does not give you a complete route forward.

This package joins the assessment and the rehabilitation together. Your clinician considers your symptoms, history and goals alongside the 3D movement and force analysis, then uses six one-hour sessions to work on the areas that matter for you.

The assessment draws on 3D movement-analysis research developed at Stanford University. The Hub Glasgow is not affiliated with or endorsed by Stanford University.

The complete package

Analysis, rehabilitation and gait retraining in one joined-up plan.

You do not leave with a technical report and a vague instruction to “work on it”. The package gives your clinician time to assess, treat, coach and progressively retrain the movement that is relevant to your symptoms and goals.

01

3D GAIT assessment

Clinical history, relevant movement tasks, 3D gait and force analysis, and a clear explanation of the useful findings.

02

Your rehab plan

A focused plan built around your symptoms, activity, strength, mobility and the movement patterns identified during assessment.

03

Six one-hour sessions

Hands-on therapy where appropriate, progressive strength work and practical gait or running retraining with your clinician.

04

Progress review

We adjust the plan as you improve and review movement again when it will genuinely help guide the next stage.

Three-dimensional gait assessment of lower-limb movement
3D movement assessmentYour movement is assessed through a consistent process so the findings can be reviewed clearly.
Clinician and patient reviewing a three-dimensional gait assessment
Clinician-led reviewYour clinician interprets the 3D movement and force analysis in context and explains the useful next step.

What GAIT measures

A repeatable view of movement.

01

Joint movement

Three-dimensional positions and movement through the pelvis, hips, knees, ankles and other visible joints.

02

Movement timing

How your movement changes through a walking, running or functional task.

03

Force patterns

Estimated loading and force patterns that may be useful to explore alongside symptoms and clinical testing.

04

Progress over time

A consistent workflow that can help compare movement when reassessment is clinically useful.

How the package works

A clear route from assessment to stronger movement.

01

Assess

We listen to the problem, assess the tasks that matter and explain the relevant 3D movement and force findings in plain language.

02

Retrain

Across six one-hour sessions, we combine appropriate treatment, strength work and gait or running retraining around your goals.

03

Progress

We review how you are responding, progress the plan and repeat relevant measures when that will help guide your next step.

Who it may help

For movement questions that need a closer look.

Walking or running symptoms

When pain, tightness or recurring injury appears during walking, running or training.

Return to activity

When you want an objective movement check to support a clinically guided return to sport or exercise.

Rehabilitation progress

When reassessment may help your clinician review how movement has changed with rehabilitation.

Strength and movement control

When squat, sit-to-stand or another functional task is relevant to your symptoms or goals.

What it can do

Support better clinical decisions.

  • Assess walking, running and selected functional tasks
  • Provide 3D movement and force analysis
  • Add objective information to a clinician-led assessment
  • Help guide rehabilitation, training or further assessment

What it does not do

It does not make a diagnosis.

  • It is not an MRI, X-ray or ultrasound scan
  • It cannot prove the single cause of pain
  • It does not replace clinical examination or medical advice
  • It does not guarantee a treatment or performance outcome

How to prepare

Wear what lets you move comfortably.

We will confirm the exact tasks and appointment details when you enquire.

  • 01
Wear fitted shorts or leggings and a fitted top so key joints remain visible.
  • 02
Bring the trainers or footwear you normally use for the activity you want assessed.
  • 03
Tie back long hair and avoid loose clothing that hides your movement.
  • 04
Tell us before recording if a task feels painful, unsafe or unsuitable.

Your next step
