Your initial appointment · 45 minutes

One appointment.
£95. Starter pack included.

A focused appointment with our podiatry team to understand your nail changes, prepare your nails and begin laser treatment where clinically suitable.

01

Fungal nail assessment

We assess your nails, surrounding skin and relevant medical history, and discuss whether testing is needed.

02

Nail preparation

We reduce thickened nail and, when appropriate, use the Lacuna method: tiny channels in the nail to help topical treatment reach the affected area.

03

Laser treatment

Your first laser treatment is included when your assessment confirms it is suitable to proceed.

04

Your starter pack

Your recommended home-care products and instructions are supplied as part of the plan. You do not need a separate chemist purchase for these items.

Your clinician will explain the findings and next steps. If laser is not suitable, or testing is needed first, we will discuss the appropriate options with you.

The usual treatment pathway

Three visits. A break. Repeat.

Most clients are advised to attend nine treatment visits in total. We check your nails and health first, then adjust the plan if your needs are different.

Block one · visits 1–3

Get started

Come in every two weeks for three visits. We assess and prepare your nails, use the Lacuna method where appropriate, supply your home-care plan and add laser if suitable.

Then a four-week break
Block two · visits 4–6

Keep going

Return for another three visits, again spaced two weeks apart. Your clinician checks progress, prepares the nails and updates care where needed.

Then a four-week break
Block three · visits 7–9

Complete and review

Attend three further visits, two weeks apart. Four weeks after your ninth visit, we review the new nail growth and decide together whether any further care is useful.

Review after four weeks

£95 per treatment visitNine visits would total £855 if all are recommended. You pay for each visit when you attend, not upfront. We explain any extra visits or review fee before you book.

Everything for your clinic home-care planYour starter pack, recommended topical products or medication where suitable, and ongoing instructions are supplied. We also help you reduce the risk of reinfection.

Nine visits is our usual pathway, not a promise of clearance or a fixed course for everyone. More affected nails may need additional care. After the review, some people need no more active treatment; others may benefit from an occasional visit as the nail grows out.

Assessment first. Treatment second.

Stop guessing what your nails need.

Fungal nail infections can leave nails thickened, discoloured, brittle or crumbly. They can be slow to improve and difficult to manage with home treatment alone.

Our programme brings the assessment, careful nail preparation, laser therapy and reinfection advice into one clinically guided plan. Treatment is tailored to the condition of your nails and what the assessment finds.

  • Assessment of the nails, surrounding skin and relevant health history.
  • Professional reduction of thickened or damaged nail where appropriate.
  • A treatment schedule based on the number of affected nails and clinical findings.
  • Practical advice for shoes, socks, skin infection and reducing reinfection risk.

Why consider laser therapy?

A careful route for nails that keep holding you back.

There is no instant fix for fungal nails. The aim is to create the best conditions for clearer-looking nail to grow forward, with proper preparation and aftercare around the treatment.

01

Podiatry-led care

Your nails and overall foot or hand health are assessed by a clinician before treatment is recommended.

02

Professional preparation

Thickened and damaged nail material can be carefully reduced before treatment where appropriate.

03

No planned downtime

Most people can normally return to their usual activities after the appointment, subject to clinical advice.

04

A personal programme

The plan reflects the number of affected nails, severity, health factors and clinical findings.

Realistic expectations: evidence for clearing fungal nail infection with laser is limited. We explain the alternatives, suitability and likely next steps. Results vary and clearance cannot be guaranteed.

How it works

One clear process, with realistic expectations.

The laser directs controlled light energy through the nail plate. It does not instantly replace damaged nail. Any visible change depends on healthy new nail growing forward, which takes time.

Assessment

We assess the nails, skin, circulation, medical history and suitability for treatment.

Confirm and prepare

Testing may be recommended. Nails are cleaned, trimmed and carefully reduced where required.

Laser treatment

Protective eyewear is used and the clinician applies the laser systematically across the treatment area.

Aftercare and review

You receive advice on topical care, footwear, socks, skin infection and reducing reinfection risk.

What to expect

A clear plan, with no upfront course fee.

Your first visit is 45 minutes. Most people follow the nine-visit pathway above, paying £95 at each treatment visit.

Initial appointment£95 · 45 minutes. Includes assessment, nail preparation/debridement, laser treatment where suitable and your starter pack.
Further treatment visits£95 each, paid when you attend. If all nine visits are recommended, the treatment visits total £855; there is no upfront package payment.

After visit nineWe review four weeks later. Further visits are decided from your nail growth and clinical findings, not booked automatically.
Visible changeClearer nail appears gradually as it grows. A great toenail can take up to around 18 months to grow out fully.
Longer-term careIf useful, your clinician may recommend occasional follow-up while the nail grows out and discuss steps to reduce reinfection.

Could this be suitable for you?

First, make sure it is fungal—and that laser is right for you.

Trauma, psoriasis and other nail conditions can look similar. We assess before recommending treatment and may suggest testing when the cause is unclear.

Laser is one part of this plan, not the whole plan. Pregnancy and active cancer treatment are reasons we would generally avoid or defer laser. Diabetes is not an automatic exclusion: we check sensation, circulation and any neuropathy or vascular problems before deciding. Other health conditions and medicines may also affect suitability.

If laser is not suitable, you may still receive appropriate nail preparation, topical care and advice. We will explain exactly what is safe and included for you before treatment.

  • Clinical screening includes circulation, sensation and relevant medical history.
  • Lacuna nail preparation and topical care are used only when suitable.
  • Protective eyewear is used by everyone in the controlled laser treatment area.
  • Treatment is adjusted or stopped if it becomes uncomfortable.

Common questions

What people usually want to know.

If anything is unclear, use Ask Us and the team will help you decide which appointment is right for you.

Is laser treatment painful?

Patients may feel warmth during treatment. Sensation varies, and treatment will be adjusted or stopped if it becomes uncomfortable.

How many treatments will I need?

Most clients are advised to have nine visits: three blocks of three treatments, each visit two weeks apart, with a four-week break between blocks. We review four weeks after visit nine. Your clinician may recommend a different plan after assessment.

How quickly will I see a result?

The damaged nail does not change immediately. Any improvement becomes visible gradually as new nail grows.

Will the laser cure my fungal nail?

No treatment can be guaranteed. Laser therapy is intended to support clearer-looking nail growth and may sit alongside nail care, topical treatment and reinfection prevention.

Do I need a fungal test?

Testing may be recommended because several non-fungal nail conditions can look like fungal infection.

Do you prepare the nail first?

Yes. Thickened or friable nail may be carefully trimmed and reduced where clinically appropriate.

Can I return to work afterwards?

There is normally no planned downtime, and most patients can resume their usual activities after the appointment.

What should I do before my appointment?

Remove nail varnish, gel polish and artificial nails unless the clinic tells you otherwise. Bring an up-to-date medication list.

Will all my nails be treated?

This is decided after assessment and depends on the distribution of suspected infection and the treatment protocol.

What if I cannot have laser?

We screen for pregnancy, active cancer treatment, sensation or circulation problems and other relevant health factors. Diabetes alone does not rule out treatment. If laser is unsuitable, we can discuss the nail preparation, topical care and home-care parts of the plan that are appropriate for you.

How much will treatment cost?

Each treatment visit is £95, paid when you attend. Nine visits total £855 if all are recommended; you do not pay this upfront. The first visit lasts 45 minutes and includes assessment, nail preparation, laser where suitable and your starter pack. We explain any additional visits or review fee before booking.
